Hayden Hurst Could Still Be Productive Despite Backup Role
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons tight end Hayden Hurst could be on the field frequently in new head coach Arthur Smith's offense in 2021. Hurst was productive in his first season with the Falcons last year, totaling 56 receptions on 88 targets for 571 yards and six touchdowns. While the drafting of Kyle Pitts certainly puts a large dent in Hurst's value, the latter should still see some targets in the two-tight end sets that Smith often ran when he was calling plays for the Titans in 2019 and 2020. Hurst shouldn't be expected to put up TE1 numbers, but there could still be room for him to carve out a fantasy-relevant role in 2021.
