Harrison Burton Seeks to Prove Himself After Losing Wood Brothers Ride
5 months agoLast week was not a good one for Harrison Burton. In last Sunday's Nashville race, Carson Hocevar intentionally spun him out under caution. On Wednesday, it was revealed that Josh Berry will replace him in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford after the closure of Stewart-Haas Racing. Although Burton has been extremely mediocre in the NASCAR Cup Series to date, it's conceivable that this announcement may intensely motivate him to perform to prove to other team owners that he still belongs in the Cup Series. However, he probably won't do so at the Chicago Street Course this weekend, as he qualified 31st for the Grant Park 165 and finished 30th after starting 32nd in last year's race. He did score his best career finish of third in a chaotic 2022 Indianapolis G.P., but that was his only ever top-15 finish on a road course and he likely won't deliver one this afternoon.
