Harrison Burton Not a Master at His Father's Best Track
5 months agoHarrison Burton ranks next to last in average speed in the four short track races this season ahead of only Kaz Grala. Although he's never been better than mediocre in the Cup Series to begin with, he tends to run even worse on shorter ovals than on other tracks. Burton has finished both Loudon races and even led three laps as a rookie after staying out of the pits before Chase Briscoe passed him on an ensuing restart, but he's neither finished better than 20th nor contended there, which is a far cry from his father Jeff's legendary record. He did have a decent run (by his standards) last year, where he finished 20th and also ranked 20th in speed, but it's hard to foresee him having much of a chance to finish much better than that unless there is heavy attrition, which there usually isn't.
