Hansel Robles Impresses At Twins Camp
4 years agoMinnesota Twins reliever Hansel Robles impressed in his first action at Twins camp. Robles threw live batting practice on Monday at a group that included new teammates Luis Arraez and Jorge Polanco and immediately impressed his new manager Rocco Baldelli- who spoke about Robles' unique mix of delivery and arm action. The 30-year-old had a disastrous 2020 season, logging a career-worst 10.26 ERA in 16.2 innings with a bloated walk rate. Robles is still just two years removed from the best season of his career when he recorded career-highs in saves, strikeout-to-walk ratio, and FIP. The underlying metrics support a return-to-form in a late-inning role, though he's probably third in the save pecking order behind Taylor Rogers and Alex Colome.
