Boston Red Sox first baseman Hanley Ramirez has been designated for assignment, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Ramirez promised 30/30 this year and has been surprising good this year, albeit not at that pace. He had a very good April, but has been slumping in May. Ramirez has six homers with 25 runs, 29 RBI and four stolen bases to go with a .254 average on the year. This move allows Dustin Pedroia to be activated from the DL. It also makes Mitch Moreland a more coveted asset in all leagues.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
