Griffin Jax Strikes Out Career-High 10 Batters In Third Win
3 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Griffin Jax put together the best start of his career in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox. Jax recorded the first quality start of his career, allowing three runs on five hits over six innings of work, fanning a career-high 10 batters while issuing just one walk. The right-hander had his slider, which had been good for a 34.3 percent whiff rate coming into the start, firing on all cylinders, as it accounted for nine of his 14 swinging strikes. Jax has now held down a tough White Sox lineup twice in his last four starts, though he's been pretty good during that stretch overall, yielding just six runs over his last 20 1/3 innings with a 21:8 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Jax should be on the streaming radar in his next matchup against Cleveland at home. The Indians' lineup has posted a 24.6 percent strikeout rate when hitting on the road this season.
