Griffin Jax Fans Six In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Griffin Jax put together his best outing of the season in Monday's victory over the Chicago White Sox. Jax didn't factor into the decision, having lasted just four innings, but he kept a potent offense off the scoreboard in allowing just one run on one hit. The 26-year-old righty struck out six batters and issued just one walk. Impressively, Jax induced 16 whiffs, matching the third-highest total through the first four innings of a game by Twins pitchers since the Statcast era began. He still owns an underwhelming 7.48 ERA but has been built up to a starter's workload, meaning he could see some more spot starts moving forward, particularly with J.A. Happ struggling. If Jax can build on this performance, he could be worth looking at as a possible streamer moving forward.
