Gregory Soto Records His 17th Save
3 years agoDetroit Tigers closer Gregory Soto recorded his 17th save of the year in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Oakland Athletics. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits and no walks while striking out two. The Tigers had a rough stretch over the second half of August, which led to Soto only recording one save from August 15 through August 31. The Tigers are surprisingly just eight games under .500, sitting at 63-71 and Soto is the team's clear closer. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues as he figures to be a steady source of saves going forward. He has a 3.16 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP on the year with only one blown saves over his 18 opportunities.
