Gregory Soto Allows Two Runs, Earns Save
4 years agoDetroit Tigers closer Gregory Soto narrowly avoided blowing the save opportunity on Opening Day, as he allowed two runs on two hits and one walk in one inning of work in a 3-2 Detroit win over Cleveland. Soto surrendered a two-run home run with one out in the top of the ninth to make it a 3-2 game, and then allowed a two-out walk before getting a pop out to second base to end the game. Managers who rostered him will appreciate getting the save today, but it was shaky work from Soto. For now, he remains a lower-tier closer in fantasy.
