Gregory Santos To Ramp Up His Throwing Program
9 months agoSeattle Mariners manager Scott Servais said that relief pitcher Gregory Santos (lat) is progressing and will start ramping up his throwing program in the coming days at spring training. Santos reported right-lat soreness early in camp but could still be ready for Opening Day as long as he doesn't have a setback once he resumes throwing. The 24-year-old was acquired from the Chicago White Sox in a trade this offseason and is expected to serve in some sort of setup role for the M's in 2024 in his first year in Seattle. Unless you're in a really deep holds league, Santos probably shouldn't be on your fantasy radar. In 66 1/3 relief innings for Chicago last year, Santos had a respectable 3.39 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 66 strikeouts and 17 walks.
