Gregory Santos Lands On 15-Day Injured List
1 year agoThe Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Gregory Santos (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with right-elbow inflammation and reinstated left-hander Garrett Crochet (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The move ends Santos' 2023 season. The 24-year-old reliever hadn't pitched since Sept. 16 and will now be ineligible to return this year. Santos was not good in his role as the team's closer in the second half of the season, and he posted a rough 6.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and three saves in six chances in the second half. The White Sox's bullpen just isn't really a place that fantasy managers chasing saves down the stretch should be looking at. With Santos now out, Bryan Shaw and Aaron Bummer figure to share save opportunities to close out the year.
