Greg Holland Records His Sixth Save On Tuesday
3 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Greg Holland closed out the team's 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday to earn his sixth save of the year. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out two. This was the team's first save since the first week of July, when Scott Barlow recorded two straight saves. Barlow was used in the eighth inning in Tuesday's game. Holland has had a rough time on the mound over the past few months. He converted two of his four save opportunities in June and he has an 8.10 ERA over 6.2 innings in July. We'll likely see both Barlow and Holland earn save opportunities going forward, which of course isn't great news for fantasy purposes.
