3 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Greg Holland closed out Friday's 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers to earn his seventh save of the year. Holland pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits and no walks while striking out two. The Royals have now won three consecutive games. Holland has saved two of them while Scott Barlow saved the other. Barlow was used in the eighth inning of Friday's game. Holland has a 4.62 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP over 41 appearances this year. He's the primary closer for the team for now, but don't be surprised if Barlow continues to get some save opportunities here and there.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
