Greg Holland Clears Waivers, Becomes A Free Agent
3 years agoFormer Texas Rangers pitcher Greg Holland cleared waivers and declined an outright assignment to become a free agent Thursday. He was designated for assignment Tuesday by the Rangers and will now look to latch onto another team. The 36-year-old signed a minor-league deal with Texas during the offseason and made the team's Opening Day roster. He struggled mightily this season, posting a 7.71 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 5:1 K: BB over 4 2/3 innings. Holland should draw interest from teams searching for bullpen help but won't have any fantasy value unless he's in consideration for saves chances with his new team.
