Greg Bird Struggling Mightily At The Plate
7 years agoLast season, New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird enjoyed a monstrous Spring Training, hitting .451 with eight home runs and 15 RBI in 51 plate appearances. He appeared set for a terrific season with the Yankees, but he actually suffered a terrible opening month of the season before losing most of the year with injuries. This year, his performance in spring has been the opposite of last year’s, as he’s suffered to the tune of a .095 batting average with only two hits in 21 plate appearances. Regardless, the Yankees’ biggest worry about Bird is that he remain healthy. Should this carry on into the season, he should find his stroke and get out of his current slump.
