Greg Bird Goes Yard In Home Defeat
6 years agoWith the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals tied at one run in the second inning of Wednesday’s game, first baseman Greg Bird broke the deadlock. The 25-year-old, who batted seventh, drilled a solo home run to right center, putting the Yankees ahead. It was one of two hits on the night for Bird, who is now hitting .200 with three home runs and five RBI since making his season debut. After suffering a right ankle injury and undergoing surgery back in March, he struggled to get back, finally making his season debut at the end of last month.
