Grayson Rodriguez Gets Cortisone Shot, Sidelined For At Least Seven Days
3 mins agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Grayson Rodriguez (elbow) received a cortisone shot and will be shut down for seven to 10 days. After this period, he will begin a throwing program. The 25-year-old has been dealing with elbow inflammation and will not be available for Opening Day. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as his timetable has not been defined. If he continues to make progress without facing setbacks, he may only miss a brief period of the season. Last summer, the 25-year-old logged 116 2/3 innings in the majors and held a 3.86 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP. He tallied 130 punchouts and held a strong 7.3 percent walk rate. When he is cleared to return, he will have a spot in the starting rotation and carry solid strikeout upside while pitching on a competing Baltimore team.
