Grayson Greiner Hit In Face By Pitch
4 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Grayson Greiner (face) was hit by a pitch in the face in the sixth inning of Sunday's game. He was immediately tended to by trainers, then left the field on his own power as he was lifted from the game. The pitch was thrown by Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Elvis Luciano. It was a fastball clocked at 94 mph. The Tigers are currently awaiting a medical report on Greiner, which should be revealed some time on Monday. Greiner is slated to be the team's backup catcher this year behind Wilson Ramos. Last year, Greiner played 18 games for the Tigers, slashing .118/.182/.333 with three home run, eight RBI and eight runs.
