4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres has been placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Torres missed Wednesday's game as a precautionary measure, with the Yankees awaiting the results of his testing. It turns out the Yankees' cautious approach was warranted, as the 24-year-old has tested positive for the virus. Torres had the virus last December and was fully vaccinated, though he'll now be the Yankees' eighth player, coach, or traveling staff member to test positive this week. The Yankees recalled Miguel Andujar up from Triple-A to take Torres' place on the roster.--Tim Capurso
