Gleyber Torres Poised For Rebound Year
4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres is poised for a bounce-back season for the Bronx Bombers in 2021. Torres was out-of-shape and out of sorts at the plate during the shortened season last year, as his .724 OPS was uncharacteristically low. A dramatic decrease in barrel rate- 3.7 percent compared to 9.0 percent for his career- and in launch angle are largely to blame for the significant decrease in power. His 2020 season seems like a huge aberration, given that he's just a year removed from a 38-homer season with 90-plus runs and RBI and a .278 average. Torres will be a fantastic value at his 62 ADP if he can sustain the plate discipline gains he made last year while rediscovering his power stroke in the mighty Yankees' lineup.
