Gleyber Torres Plates Two Runs, Swipes A Base Tuesday
3 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in Tuesday's 11-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Torres stepped up to the plate in the fourth inning with two runners in scoring position and drove each of them in with a single to the opposite field. He later singled and stole his fifth base of the season in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old still has just three home runs to his name this season, as his launch angles and fly-ball rates have continued their steady decline since his rookie year. It's still hard to say exactly what happened to Torres, though he is surely more talented than the numbers he's put on the stat sheet this season. Perhaps this performance can get him heading in the right direction.
