Gleyber Torres Picks Up Hit In Sloppy Effort
7 years agoPerhaps rusty from a lack of games all week due to inclement weather and off days, New York Yankees rookie Gleyber Torres was not at his best on defense in Friday’s defeat to the Royals. The 21-year-old dropped a fly ball with runners on the corners in the first inning, allowing the first run to score. Two innings later, with the bases loaded, he booted a ground ball that resulted in yet another run scored, one of two unearned runs for starting pitcher CC Sabathia. While Torres did end up picking up a hit, his defense made it obvious that the lack of games this week affected him.
