Gleyber Torres Homers, Departs Early With Side Injury
2 days agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres (side) hit a solo home run in the third inning of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, but he was then pulled in the sixth inning due to a side injury. Torres was seen grabbing at his left side while rounding the bases after his home run, and he was later replaced at the keystone by Zack McKinstry, with Javier Baez entering the game to play third base. The 28-year-old went 1-for-2 with a walk before leaving early with what could be a dreaded oblique injury. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but this is certainly an injury that could land Torres on the injured list. If that ends up being the case, McKinstry, Colt Keith and Andy Ibanez would all be options to move to the keystone. If Keith is moved to second, Spencer Torkelson, who homered on Opening Day would move to first base.
