Gleyber Torres Heating Up At The Plate
4 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres had his second straight two-hit game in a Wednesday's 7-0 win over Baltimore. Torres doubled in the first inning but was left stranded, then later delivered an RBI single to extend the Yankee lead. It's not just the results for the young shortstop- two of the four hits have gone for extra bases- it's the process as well, as Torres has hit five baseballs at exit velocities of 95 MPH or more in the last two days. He'll have a great chance to stay hot in his next matchup against Orioles' right-hander Jorge Lopez, who ranks in the 29th-percentile in expected slugging. Torres will bat third against Lopez and is a good bet to go yard Thursday.
