5 months agoAfter being benched the last two games for poor play, New York Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres is back in action and is batting fifth for the Bombers against Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Torres has been a pretty big disappointment for the Yankees and fantasy managers in 2024, but perhaps he can get going offensively on Friday in Toronto against Kikuchi, who he has hit .385 against in 26 career at-bats with a 1.006 OPS, a home run and four RBI. However, since June 14, the 27-year-old has just two hits in his 29 at-bats. The recent slump has dropped his season slash line to .215/.294/.333, while the Venezuelan infielder has added seven home runs, 29 RBI, four stolen bases and 36 runs scored. DFS gamers looking for a cheap streamer could give Torres a try, but those in redraft leagues may want to keep Torres benched until he breaks out of his funk.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
