Giovanny Urshela Wills Yankees To Win
6 years agoBecoming a regular on the New York Yankees as a result of injuries, Colombian infielder Giovanny Urshela has been more than serviceable since arriving in the Bronx. Starting at third base and batting seventh Monday night, the former Cleveland Indian recorded two hits, but his biggest plate appearances came at the most opportune moments. In the 12th, his sacrifice fly gave the Yankees a lead, and after Aroldis Chapman blew the save, Urshela singled in the winning run in the 14th. The 27-year-old is hitting .297 through 14 games and should continue to see regular action as the club nurses their injuries.
