3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos picked up his first save of the season in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals. Gallegos entered the game in the ninth inning and pitched a 1-2-3 inning with no strikeouts. The 30-year-old emerged as the team's closer down the stretch of the 2021 season, and he got the Cardinals' first save opportunity of this season. However, there has been speculation that the Cardinals may employ a closer committee, which would limit Gallegos' fantasy value. Given how well he pitched last season, Gallegos is the Cardinals relief pitcher to roster in fantasy leagues at this time, even with the potential for a committee.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
