3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos is the current favorite for save opportunities in St. Louis. However, it seems likely that the bullpen management for the team will be fluid. Genesis Cabrera, Jordan Hicks and Ryan Helsley all have experience closing games and all could be in the mix for saves along with Gallegos at the start of the year. Last year, Gallegos was second on the team in saves, converting 14 of his 22 save opportunities. Alex Reyes (shoulder) led the team in saves with 29 last year, but he will begin the 2022 season on the injured list and could miss around two months. RotoBaller ranks Gallegos as the 11th overall relief pitcher. The Cardinals should have plenty of save opportunities so Gallegos is in good position to accumulate saves, but he may be a bit frustrating to roster if the committee speculation is proven true.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
