Giovani Bernard “Going To Be A Major Part Of The Offense”
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said running back Giovani Bernard "has been pretty good" and is "going to be a major part of this offense." The former Cincinnati Bengal signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract after compiling 771 scrimmage yards in 2021, including 47 catches for 355 receiving yards. He has been a standout in training camp and is expected to have a vital role in the offense in 2021. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones figure to see most of the early-down work while Bernard handles third-down snaps. Based on Arians' recent comments, the 29-year-old could see some early-down work as well. Bernard has more fantasy value in PPR formats, especially with QB Tom Brady frequently targeting running backs in the passing game. The veteran RB's ADP is 155 in FFPC leagues, but that number could rise based on the recent news.
