Gio Urshela Hitting Cleanup In Twins Debut
3 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Gio Urshela is hitting cleanup in Friday's season opener against Robbie Ray and the Seattle Mariners. This will be the Twins debut for the 30-year-old, who was acquired alongside catcher Gary Sanchez in the trade that sent Josh Donaldson to the New York Yankees last month. Urshela slashed .267/.301/.419 with 14 home runs, 49 RBI and 42 runs over 116 games with the pinstripes last year. He'll have an everyday role in Minnesota as the team's third baseman and if he continues to hit cleanup, he could wind up putting together some solid counting stats in 2022.
