Gio Gonzalez Ready To Join Yankees?
6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez struck out 10 while allowing three hits and one walk in six innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday night. The left-hander threw 56 of his 89 pitches for strikes, and he could be called up soon to join a Yankees rotation that got more bad news on Luis Severino (shoulder) on Tuesday. The Yankees also have Domingo German and Jonathan Loaisiga as options, but Gonzalez presents New York with a veteran option with plenty of experience. The 33-year-old struggled with the Nats but was much better in Milwaukee at the end of last year. Gonzalez could be useful as a matchup-based streamer in deeper leagues if he joins the Yanks rotation.
