Gio Gonzalez Picks Up Where He Left Off
7 years agoWashington Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez had a strong start to the 2018 campaign on Sunday. He got the win against the Reds by pitching six innings of one-run ball, giving up five hits, striking out seven and walking one. Gonzalez had a career year in 2017 and will likely regress this season. However, nothing besides his walk rate indicates that he'll fall back heavily and being supported by a dynamite lineup like Washington's makes him especially valuable in leagues that count wins. He makes a strong SP3 and can be safely deployed against all teams.
