Gio Gonzalez Is A Risky Start For Friday
5 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez has a tough matchup heading in to Friday's game against the Cubs. Gonzalez only lasted four innings in his first start back from the injured list on the 20th against the Diamondbacks, giving up three runs on five hits and two runs while only striking out one batter. Now, he gets a tougher matchup at home against the Chicago Cubs, who are averaging 5.19 runs on the road. Gonzalez has yet to finish six innings for far this season, and with a 1.26 WHIP and a low strikeout rate, he remains a high risk/low reward play, especially against a good offense. You should feel comfortable sitting him until he shows signs of improvement.
