Giants To Stick With Eli Manning
6 years agoThe New York Giants plan to stick with quarterback Eli Manning despite a 1-5 start to their season after losing 34-13 to the Eagles on Thursday night. The aging quarterback has six touchdowns and six turnovers in six games on the year and completed just 24 of 43 passes for 281 yards and an interception on Thursday. He was sacked four times. "No. We believe in Eli," head coach Pat Shurmur said Friday. Backups Alex Tanney and rookie Kyle Lauletta has a combined one game of experience between them. The 37-year-old Manning could have a bounce-back game on Monday night next week against the injured Falcons defense, but he's been more of a low-end QB2 up to this point. The Giants rank 28th in the NFL with 19.5 points per game.
