Giants Sticking With Eli Manning
6 years agoNew York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur gave quarterback Eli Manning another vote of confidence after the Week 8 loss to the Redskins to drop the team to 1-7. “At this point Eli’s our quarterback and we’re looking at all areas to improve," Shurmur said. However, the head coach wasn't firmly backing the veteran quarterback, and there remains a chance that the team could turn to rookie Kyle Lauletta after their Week 9 bye. The 37-year-old QB is very hesitant in the pocket and clearly doesn't trust his porous offensive line. He went 30-for-47 for 316 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions on Sunday and has eight TDs and six interceptions on the year. Despite decent options around him, Manning will remain a mediocre QB2 option for however long he keeps this job.
