5 years agoNew York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur isn't ruling out the possibility that rookie quarterback Daniel Jones is the starter in Week 1, but he also said that Eli Manning is getting ready to have a great year. Most draft analysts thought the Giants reached for Jones in the first round, but they were desperate to find Manning's successor in the long term. Manning should be the team's starter to open the season, but if he continues to decline as he has in recent years, Jones could easily see starts in his rookie campaign.
