11 months agoThe San Francisco Giants and free-agent pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto met face to face on Sunday. The meeting is far from a surprise, as the Giants are just one of a number of big-market clubs interested in the decorated 25-year-old, who is the most sought-after international free agent since Shohei Ohtani, his teammate on the World Baseball Classic-champion Japanese team in March. The right-hander worked to a 1.21 ERA across 23 outings with KBO's Orix Buffaloes in the 2023 season while winning his second KBO MVP award in the process. The Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, and Red Sox are among the other big-market clubs attempting to sign Yamamoto.--Brenton Kemp
