Giancarlo Stanton Remains Without Timetable
56 seconds agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (elbow) remains without a timetable. Yankee manager Aaron Boone said on Sunday that there is "nothing imminent" regarding Stanton's return to baseball activities. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Stanton's status, but he is in danger of missing Opening Day. The slugger has not swung a bat in several weeks due to "high pain" in both of his elbows. Seeing that Stanton remains without a definite recovery timetable is not a positive sign. Last season, the 35-year-old held a .233/.298/.475 slash line with 27 home runs. He generated an elite .509 xSLG but held a hefty 31.2 percent strikeout rate. While Stanton remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect the Yankees to move several players to the DH spot, which could open up starting opportunities for first baseman Ben Rice.
