Giancarlo Stanton Hits Extra-Innings Home Run
6 years agoAfter nine innings wasn’t enough to settle Tuesday night’s game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox, the game carried into extra innings. The star for the Yankees in the 10th inning was Giancarlo Stanton, who bounced back from an embarrassing strikeout on Monday night to drill a go-ahead two-run home run. It was his second hit of the night, but clearly his biggest. While the home run seemingly put the Yankees ahead for good, the lead would be blown in the bottom of the inning, before the club eventually won later. As for Stanton, his first season with the Yankees continues to be more than meets the eye. While he won’t approach the godly season he enjoyed last year, this was his seventh home run of the season from the ninth inning on, more than anybody else in the majors.
