Giancarlo Stanton Expects To Return In September
5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (knee) is confident that he can return to the field in September. Stanton led the Bombers with 38 home runs and 100 RBI last year but has played in only nine games in 2019 due to a biceps strain, shoulder strain, calf strain and a PCL strain in his knee. Both general manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone both believe that Stanton will be back next month as well. He has been doing tee-and-toss drills, throwing and running at around 85 percent effort on an anti-gravity treadmill. Stanton is hoping to have "a few weeks of at-bats before October," meaning he's unlikely to help much in fantasy the rest of the way. It's truly been a lost season for those that paid a high price for him this spring.
