Giancarlo Stanton Bashes Grand Slam As Yankees Sweep
6 years agoThe New York Yankees sealed a sweep of the Chicago White Sox Wednesday night by putting the game away early on. After going down two runs in the first inning, the offense broke out for six runs in the second, led by Giancarlo Stanton. The 29-year-old followed his Tuesday night home run with a grand slam on Wednesday, breaking a 2-2 tie. It was Stanton’s lone hit of the night, but it brought him to 27 home runs and 73 RBI, as he continues to lead the club in hits this season. This is the kind of Stanton the Yankees will need as they remain without Aaron Judge and in the hunt for a postseason berth.
