Gerrit Cole 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Ace Set To Miss Entire 2025 Season
5 hours agoAfter missing the first half of the 2024 season with an elbow injury, Gerrit Cole (elbow) returned to the mound and had some success in the second half. He ended the year with a 3.41 ERA in 17 starts. Unfortunately, Cole experienced some issues with his elbow in a spring outing and went for tests. The Yankees' worst fears were confirmed as it was announced that Cole would undergo Tommy John Surgery (TJS). That will mean he will miss the entire 2025 season and likely won't return to action until later in the 2026 season. Obviously, in redraft leagues, Cole should not be drafted. If you have already taken him in an early draft, Cole can be dropped and replaced. Given Cole will be nearly 36 years old when he gets back to pitching for the Yankees, Cole is also under consideration for dropping in dynasty leagues.
