Geronimo Allison Maintains Starting Role
6 years agoThrough almost two weeks of Training Camp, Green Bay wide receiver Geronimo Allison is still in position to see a large amount of snaps in 2018. Allison is technically third on the depth chart, but Green Bay uses three wide receiver sets as much as anybody in the NFL and treats it as their base formation. Allison is a dependable player with good size but he sorely lacks athleticism. For that reason, it was speculated that one of the three wide receivers drafted by Green Bay may make a run at his spot on the depth chart. However, all three rookies have been quiet and Allison appears fairly safe in his current role. Whoever gets Jordy Nelson’s old spot starting out wide across from Davante Adams is in line for a healthy amount of targets. While a lot can change between now and the season opener, it is seeming more likely that Allison is in line to see those targets. Allison has a very low ceiling and is not going to blow up the box score, but he should provide some steady production over the course of 2018 if he maintains his current role.
