German Marquez To Return Next Week
5 months agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez (elbow) will make another minor-league rehab start with Double-A Hartford this week following his outing on Saturday with Triple-A Albuquerque, where he lasted just two-thirds of an inning. Marquez will then return to Colorado's starting rotation next week on the road against the Cincinnati Reds if all goes well with his final rehab start. The 29-year-old so far has an ugly 9.58 ERA with 14 strikeouts and four walks in 10 1/3 innings on his rehab assignment. Marquez has gotten up to 52 total pitches in an outing as he finalizes his rehab after having Tommy John surgery. He will be rejoining the Rockies' rotation before the All-Star break, but fantasy managers in mixed leagues should be extremely hesitant to use him as a streamer for at least a while as he regains his footing in the big leagues.
