German Marquez Goes Six Scoreless, Wins 12th Game
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez spun six scoreless innings during an 11-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. The 26-year-old was brilliant, allowing six hits and one walk while striking out six during the quality start. The 2021 All-Star has put together a strong season, posting a 12-10 record with 3.93 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 167 K across 167 innings pitched. Curiously enough, the Rockies right-hander has been much better at Coors than on the road this season, with an 8-2 record and 3.16 ERA compared to 4-8 and a 4.93 ERA. Marquez is slated to take the ball next Thursday against the Braves on the road, making him a risky play.
