Germaine de Randamie Solidifies Her Claim As No. 1 Contender
4 years agoGermaine de Randamie (10-4) did everything needed to solidify herself as the next opponent to take on Amanda Nunez for the UFC bantamweight championship. Known for her world-class striking, de Randamie earned her first-ever career submission by locking in a guillotine choke on the ground-savvy Julianna Pena. Statistically, the numbers for de Randamie and Pena were quite close. Germaine landed 37 significant strikes (57 total strikes) and no takedowns. The Iron Lady showed her dominance in her control of the action, not necessarily the numbers. If she is tasked with facing Nunez next, you might want to keep de Randamie on the bench, as she's 0-2 so far in her career against Nunez.
