Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Geraldo Perdomo is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds. Left-hander Brandon Williamson is getting the start for the Reds so the switch-hitting Perdomo will start this contest on the bench, as has been the case for most of the season whenever the D-Backs face a southpaw. The 23-year-old has actually hit lefties well this year, albeit in a small sample size, with a .303/.361/.333 batting lines across 36 plate appearances. Veteran Nick Ahmed will cover shortstop and bat eighth in Perdomo's place.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk in Thursday's 4-2 win over the New York Mets. He also struck out once. The 25-year-old seems to be heating up again at the dish after a brief cold spell, brandishing a hit in four straight appearances with two two-hit games in that span. Perdomo collected five RBIs during that stretch, with three extra-base hits (two HRs, one double). He's been exceptional on the season -- slashing .275/.387/.459 with five home runs, seven steals, and 25 RBI with 16 runs scored. Perhaps the most impressive part of his profile is his discerning eye at the plate, as the switch-hitting shortstop garners one of the best walk rates in the league (15.8%), while striking out at one of the fewest (10.1%[97th percentile]).--Alex Ciulla

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo and infielder/outfielder Pavin Smith will both start on the bench on Wednesday against the hosting New York Mets. It will be Perdomo's first day off this season. Garrett Hampson is starting at the 6 and batting ninth, while Randal Grichuk will serve as the designated hitter and bat third against Mets right-hander Huascar Brazoban. Left-hander Brandon Waddell is scheduled for a bulk-relief role, which is why Arizona is resting both Perdomo and Smith, who both hit left-handed. Perdomo has struggled of late, going 5-for-36 with a homer, two doubles, two RBI, three steals, si walks and six K's in his last nine games. Smith has been hot in the first month, slashing .347/.478/.639 with four homers, nine RBI and 16 runs scored. Grichuk has a hit in just two career at-bats against Brazoban.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. The 24-year-old added two steals and scored twice in the outing. Perdomo's batting average has dropped a bit from his blistering start earlier in the month, but he's still been impactful, registering four home runs, four doubles, 21 RBI, 15 runs scored, and six steals. His current home run total is one more than he blasted in 2024, but in far fewer at-bats. He's also vastly improved his plate discipline, walking a robust 16.5% of the time with a strikeout rate in the 96th percentile (9.4%). Perdomo has seen his hard-hit percentage jump by eight points (33.3%) from a season ago.--Alex Ciulla

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo went yard in the eighth inning of the team's 9-0 win over the Orioles on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks jumped out to an early lead in the rubber game of their three-game home set with Baltimore and cruised to a comfortable series win. Perdomo's home run capped a 3-for-4 day for the No. 2 hitter, who now has two homers on the season and is batting .333 with four extra-base hits, two stolen bases, and a .384 wOBA. He has a 27.7% hard-hit rate, per Statcast, which would be the best mark of his career in a qualifying season if he can continue to find success. He's in a great lineup spot for Arizona and is definitely worth playing for fantasy while he continues to fill in at the top of the order while Ketel Marte (hamstring) is on the injured list.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller
