Geraldo Perdomo Has Torn Meniscus, Likely Out A Month
8 months agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his right knee and will require surgery, likely keeping him out at least a month. Rookie Blaze Alexander figures to get much of the playing time, but the club is also expected to select the contract of Kevin Newman from Triple-A Reno. Veteran Jace Peterson is another option for the Snakes at the 6 until Perdomo is able to return in around a month. The 24-year-old Perdomo injured his knee on Wednesday and hasn't appeared since. Alexander, 24, has seen some time already this year against left-handed pitchers and has gone 5-for-18 (.278) with a homer, three RBI and a stolen base in his first six big-league games, but now he'll be playing regularly, making him worth a look in deep-mixed fantasy leagues for middle-infield depth.
