Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Geraldo Perdomo has been recalled from the alternate training site. The move helps cover the team with regular shortstop Nick Ahmed likely being moved to the injured list. Another rookie, Josh Rojas, has been covering the position but is off to a slow start to the year (0-for-9 with three strikeouts). Perdomo has no experience above A-ball aside from his time at the alternate training site. Just 21, he has an advanced bat for his age and the speed to nab 20 or more bases in a full season. His development allowed the club to trade Jazz Chisholm to the Miami Marlins for Zac Gallen. Perdomo is ranked by Rotoballer as the 47th-best prospect in baseball.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
