Gerald Everett Expected To Be Involved In 2020
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett entered the 2019 season as the team's primary tight end, but after he was sidelined with an injury, fellow tight end Tyler Higbee stepped up in a big way for the team. Now, Higbee appears set to lead all Rams tight ends in targets with Everett playing second fiddle. Regardless of the pecking order, Everett still figures to have a sizable role in the offense. In a recent interview, Rams head coach Sean McVay said that Everett is "a big part of what we’re doing." Due to how effective Higbee was down the stretch last year, it's hard to imagine anything like a 50/50 target share between the two tight ends, but Everett could end up seeing around 25% of the tight end targets, which would of course hurt Higbee. Everett isn't someone worth targeting in fantasy drafts right now, but if Higbee goes down, Everett could be a valuable asset.
